Purpose: To provide participants with the knowledge to manage a comprehensive program successfully, reduce pedestrian crashes and create pedestrian-friendly communities.
Course Content: - Pedestrian Safety Introductory Concepts
- Problem Identification and Data Analysis
- Selecting Countermeasures
- Building a pedestrian safety coalition
- Identifying resouces for Countermeasure Implementation
- Building a Unified Approach
Benefits of the Course: This training course provides a comprehensive understanding of how to successfully manage a pedestrian safety program and provides an effective learning environment with classes of 15 to 20 participants. Participants who attend all sessions will receive a U.S. Department of Transportation certificate of completion.
Who Should Attend: State Highway Safety Office personnel tasked with coordinating a Pedestrian Safety Program.
