Extra Pages

If your passport's visa pages are becoming full, but your passport is still valid and in good condition, you may apply for additional pages to be added to your passport.

Additional pages can normally be added twice to a passport book before the book must be replaced. Additional pages will not be added to passports which are in a poor condition, damaged or mutilated.

If it is determined that your passport is not suitable for additional pages, you will be required to schedule an appointment and apply for a new passport in person.

Please note: extra pages cannot be added to an emergency passport.

Please review the following FOUR STEPS before submitting your application.  Please note, that original/certified documents should not be laminated as doing so will invalidate the document.

Step 1 - Complete the online Form DS-4085, Application for Additonal Visa Pages

You are required to complete the passport form DS-4085: Application for Additional Visa Pages. Please ignore page one of the printed instruction pages, as it does not apply when applying for extra pages in the United Kingdom.  Click here for Form DS-4085 [PDF - 976kb].

Step 2 - Supporting Documents

You are required to furnish your valid ten- or five-year passport.

Step 3 - Pay the applicable fee

The fee is $82 for extra pages.  Accepted payment methods are:

  • Credit card - Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, or Diners Club, or Debit card - Visa or Mastercard only;
  • International Money Order to the exact U.S. dollar amount made payable to the "United States Disbursing Officer;"
  • Banker's Draft drawn in U.S. dollars only on a bank in the United States made payable to the "United States Disbursing Officer." or
  • If applying for the service in person in London or Belfast, cash - either dollars or UK sterling;

Money Orders and Banker's Drafts must have been issued within the last five months.

Applications submitted by courier or mail may use the Card payment form (PDF - 101kb).  If you are enclosing more than one application, you should send only one money order.  Please note: We are not authorized to accept personal checks and will not accept cash by mail/courier nor overpayment.  The fee is a non-refundable processing fee and is retained by the Department of State whether or not the passport is issued.
