The Agricultural Service at the American Embassy in The Hague represents the interests of the USDA's Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) in the Benelux. These responsibilities are principally accomplished via reporting commodity and trade developments to the USDA, coordinating policy issues with host government officials and promoting the sale of U.S. food, agricultural, forestry and fishery products. We provide trade services for local importing companies seeking U.S. products and U.S. companies wishing to develop markets in our region of responsibility.

You can also contact us if you are looking for a specific product or supplier or what a specific region has to offer.  With the newly developed Trade Lead System we can search for suppliers of the product that you are looking for; just fill in the form by clicking at below internetlink.

Floriade 2012

Greetings from FAS/The Hague.  Our office would like to share information with you on Floriade 2012 and what opportunities that Floriade 2012 might have for your organization, states and companies.

The World Horticulture Expo Floriade 2012 will be held from April until October 2012 in the Netherlands.  Since 1960, the Floriade has been organized five times in the Netherlands (the last time in 2002) and enjoys a rich tradition with the horticultural sector.  The Floriade site is located close to the Dutch border with Germany and Belgium and when the Expo is over, its legacy to the region will be an innovative business park.  Floriade 2012 will be the stage for socially responsible production methods in horticulture and the showcase for sustainable horticultural products.  It is also a captivating green experience that supports values such as health and innovation.

You can be part of Floriade 2012 in various ways.  You can be a permanent or temporary participant, and the exhibit can be indoors or outdoors.  An exhibit can be displayed in a pavilion or in a garden where visitors can enjoy the experience.  You can exhibit jointly or as part of a cluster, sector or group of companies.  Expo organizers have indicated that they expect at least 2 million international visitors including trade professionals and consumers.  More information about the Expo, its themed zones and participation possibilities can be found on http://www.floriade.com/ and in the attached presentation.
