On Wednesday, January 19, U.S. Ambassador to Serbia Mary Warlick and Serbian Minister of Telecommunications Jasna Matic opened the International Academic Center office at its new location in Belgrade, Dečanska 12/I.

The International Academic Center (IAC) is a member of the educational information centers network, approved and supported by the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.  The IAC provides advising services to students and young professionals in Serbia who are seeking university study in America, as well as test preparation and test administration for university admittance.

Since its founding in 2004, the IAC has helped hundreds of Serbian citizens to enroll in universities in the United States, Europe and other parts of the world.  Under the IAC’s guidance, more than 200 students have secured more than $.4.5 million USD in direct institutional funding per academic year from the colleges and universities they attend.

On 25 January 2011, the IAC will expand its academic and professional testing services to include the first Prometric Academic, Professional, and Corporate Testing Center in Serbia, which provides testing services in Serbia and provides a variety of testing options throughout the region.

The expansion of IAC services was financed and implemented through the collaboration of the USAID Competitiveness Project, U.S Embassy Belgrade, and Prometric.
