Ambassador to Attend U.S. Studies Summer Academy

On Tuesday, July 8, U.S. Ambassador to Serbia Cameron Munter will participate in the first U.S. Studies Summer Academy which will take place at Kopaonik, July 6-12, 2008. The seven-day Academy, titled “2008 U.S. Presidential Elections,” will address various aspects of the presidential elections and will gather around 20 graduate students, U.S. Studies alumni and scholars from Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Croatia.

The U.S. Studies Alumni Association, established in January 2007 by a group of U.S. Studies scholars and alumni of the Center for the Studies of the U.S, Faculty of Political Sciences, will organize the annual regional U.S. Studies Summer Academy. The mission of the Association is to promote research, study and teaching of U.S. society and values in Serbia and the Balkan region. The major goal of the Academy is to promote values of freedom, democracy and the free market shared between the United States and Serbia, which have enjoyed more than 125 years of diplomatic relations.

Ambassador Munter will address the participants of the Academy on the subject "American Presidential Elections and American Foreign Policy."
