“This I Believe” Director Dan Gediman to Meet the Public At Al Sawy Culture Wheel

The U.S. Embassy cultural affairs section invites you for an evening with Dan Gediman, “This I Believe” foundation http://thisibelieve.com Director and book co-editor, on Monday, August 8, 2011, at 9:30 pm at Al Sawy Culture Wheel in Zamalek. Egyptian celebrities will be present and free books will be distributed.
 
Dan Gediman will tour Egypt this week to encourage Egyptians to express their beliefs publicly in positive and productive ways through writing their own “This I Believe” essays.  Gediman will moderate the essay readings and talk about his recent book, which the Embassy translated into Arabic.

“This I Believe” is an international organization engaging people in writing and sharing essays describing the core values that guide their daily lives. More than 90.000 of these essays, written by people from all walks of life, are archived on this link http://thisibelieve.com, heard on public radio, chronicled through books, and featured in weekly podcasts. The project is based on the popular 1950s radio series of the same name hosted by Edward R. Murrow.
