U.S. Ambassador at HACE Hotel Supplies Exhibition

On Monday, U.S. Ambassador Anne Patterson visited the 2012 HACE Hotel Supplies Exhibition at the Cairo International Conference Center. 

Ambassador Patterson commented, “The tourism industry generates jobs not only directly in hotels and tourism companies, but in the allied industries in Egypt, including food processors, wholesalers and the manufacturing industries that are represented at HACE.” 

Makro Cash and Carry briefed Ambassador Patterson on their efforts, in cooperation with USAID’s Agricultural Technical School program and Egyptian farmers, to provide high quality fruits and vegetables to hotels and restaurants through their wholesale operations. 

The Embassy’s Agricultural Affairs Office also had a booth at the Expo showcasing high quality American food products currently imported into Egypt.
