Each year the Diversity Immigrant Visa Program makes available permanent resident visas to persons meeting the eligibility requirements. Applicants for diversity visas, who are initially chosen through a random computer-generated lottery drawing, must demonstrate that they have either a high school education or its equivalent or two years of work experience within the past five years in an occupation requiring at least two years of training or experience.

The DV-2014 Program

The entry registration period for DV-2014 has ended. The online registration period for the 2014 Diversity Visa Program (DV-2014) began on Tuesday, October 2, 2012, and concluded on Saturday, November 3, 2012.

Scam Alert

If you have received an email notifying you that your application for the Diversity Visa (DV) Program has been successful and that you must send money to a named individual to proceed with your application, you are a victim of a scam.  

Successful DV applicants are notified by the Department of State, Kentucky Consular Center (KCC) by letter, NOT email and are provided instructions on how to proceed to the next step in the process. The KCC will not ask you to send money to them, to any U.S. Embassy or to any person by mail or by services such as Western Union.

Remember, successful DV applicants are notified by the Department of State, Kentucky Consular Center (KCC).  No other organization or private company is authorized by the Department of State to notify DV applicants of their winning entry or the next steps in the processing of applying for their visa.
