Urgent Need to Travel

Although every attempt is made to ensure applicants obtain visa appointments in a relatively short order, applicants may have a pressing need to travel.  We recognize delays can create difficulties for applicants with pressing reasons for travel.

Should you have an urgent need to travel due to an emergency situation (such as a seriously ill family member, a funeral, or an urgent medical procedure) and are unable to secure  an appointment that will meet your deadline, you should make an appointment for the first available time. Then, please follow the instructions for filling out an emergency appointment request form in the US Embassy web page. Your request will be reviewed by U.S. Consulate General Nuevo Laredo and you should receive a response within 2 business days.
