Historical Programs at the USAHEC

One of the USAHEC's primary missions is to reach out to the U.S. Army and the American public by offering extensive historical programs. Our programs include lecture series, workshops, historical demonstrations, and several annual living history events. All USAHEC events are free to the public.

Living History: The USAHEC hosts two annual living history events and many smaller reenactments, living historian recruitment events, and demonstrations.

Army Heritage Days:
Army Heritage Days is an annual timeline living history event which examines nearly every era of U.S. Army history. Army Heritage Days takes place on Armed Forced Weekend in May, and attracts visitors from all over the country. The event includes lectures, demonstrations, military camp life, and “sutlers” both outside on the mile-long Army Heritage Trail and inside the Visitor and Education Center. Yearly attractions include current operations vehicles and currently serving Soldiers, a World War I trench system complete with reenactors dressed as French, British, and American Soldiers, and living historians representing Friend and Foe alike from each conflict involving the U.S. Army.
