What is Books 24x7? Books 24x7 Referenceware® is the largest online book resource, and is available through SATERN. Learners can search and access a wide collection of unabridged content from the world’s leading authorities on business, technology, and other fields.
What resources are available within SkillSoft? These e-Learning resources include course, books, job aids, and study guides that cover several topics and subject areas such as business, information technology, and engineering.
What are some of the SATERN SkillSoft Benefits?
Do employees have to pay for this service? No, SATERN SkillSoft is a free resource for civil servants and contractors. Access to the SkillSoft courseware and Books 24x7 resources are included in an agency-wide licensing agreement; paid by the agency and accessible through SATERN for the use of all NASA. These new online resources are inexpensive alternatives to on-site, instructor-led courses and book purchases.
Where do I find the online books and courses? Find these new resources under the SATERN Catalog's new Subject Area titled "SkillSoft Courseware."
While taking a course or reading an online book, I leave my computer and get logged out of the SkillSoft application or Books 24x7 site. What should I do? To access the course or book again, you will need to re-launch the application through SATERN.
Should I use the FAQs on the Books 24x7 site? Most questions on the Books 24x7 site are correct. But if you have problems, review the SkillSoft Integration job aids and training material or contact the SATERN Help Desk for clarification.
If I have technical problems with the online courses or books, what should I do? Contact the SATERN Help Desk to report issues with the online resources.
I closed a SkillSoft course, but was not returned to the page I last accessed. What happened? The Bookmark function of SkillSoft courses work differently depending on what kind of course you launched. If an IT course, the bookmark returns you to the first page of a section. Business courses will return you to the exact page you last accessed.
I don’t see the SkillSoft Player. Why didn’t it load? Before launching courses, make sure your browser pop-up blocker is disabled. This could hinder the SkillSoft Player from loading. |
