Defense Innovation Marketplace: Defense and Industry Narrow Communications Gap January 23, 2013

As a major cost- and time-saving measure, DoD officials developed the new Defense Innovation Marketplace website to narrow the communication gap and help government and industry stay up to date on developing projects that support the Services across DoD. The site is part of the ‘Better Buying Power’ initiative to reduce costs. The website was developed as a centralized online resource for all branches of the military and small-business owners to invigorate innovation and increase communication. It allows Industry performers to learn about investment priorities and capability needs across DoD Agencies. Industry can also use the site to submit proprietary IR&D summary reports which are separately stored, accessed and used solely in compliance with DFAR rules. For Government and Military DoD personnel, the Marketplace provides new search tools to assess and leverage industry technology projects for current future programs. For access and in depth information regarding the Defense Innovation Marketplace, visit http://www.dtic.mil/dtic/submit/qSubmit/index.html.
