STAR ProductsWeather and WaterMost of the Center's research involves developing satellite products which support NOAA's Weather and Water goal, in order to assist the National Weather Service (NWS) to monitor current conditions in the atmosphere, to enable forecasters to predict the weather, and to warn of weather hazards. STAR tests the use of data from many instruments on both NOAA and non-NOAA satellites. Center scientists also study the effect that data from future satellites may have on short-term forecasting.
