Railroad Systems Issues

The Railroad System Issues Program directs the entire R&D program towards the DOT’s strategic goals and provides assurance that those goals are being met. Near-term priorities include:

Developing and using a safety risk model to help identify priorities
Building FRA capabilities for program evaluation to ensure projects have the highest probability of delivering benefits
Addressing the DOT’s environmental sustainability goal
Reviewing FRA R&D databases for data that can be shared with the public
Workforce development activities
