We Stand With Israel
|
Dear Friend,
During this period of heightened uncertainty in the Middle East, with mounting attacks against Israeli citizens perpetrated by the violent, terrorist group Hamas, America must remain steadfast in support of our ally Israel and its right to defend itself.
This past week, I supported bipartisan H.Res. 813, expressing "our vigorous support and unwavering commitment to the welfare, security and survival of the state of Israel, as a Jewish and Democratic state with secure borders, and recognizing and strongly supporting its right to act in self-defense to protect its citizens against acts of terrorism." Our thoughts and prayers remain with the Israeli people as they defend themselves against this latest round of attacks that killed innocent civilians.
It is vital that we reaffirm our relationship with Israel, which is built upon mutual respect, shared values, and common aspirations for peace in the Middle East. The welfare and security of Israel is crucial to the stability of the Middle East, and we reiterate Israel’s sovereign right to self defense.
