<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px;" mce_style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px;">JEFFERSON PARISH, La. - A vessel contracted by BP, and under the direction of the U.S. Coast Guard, places boom along Barataria Bay, La.

As the Gulf Coast continues to struggle with the impact of the recent oil spill, Americans across the country have turned their attention to protecting this important natural resource.  Small businesses can get involved in a number of ways, both in the region and from home.  For the most up-to-date information on the spill, please visit: www.deepwaterhorizonresponse.com.

This website will provide information on the following:

  • How to report incidents

  • Volunteer opportunities

  • Claim information

In addition, there are two toll-free volunteer hotlines set up to aid this effort:

  • Report oiled shoreline or request volunteer information: (866)-448-5816

  • Submit your vessel as a vessel of opportunity skimming system: (866) 279-7983 or (877) 847-7470

US DOT’s Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization would like to encourage the small business community to use its resources and network to aid wherever possible.  Together, our collective efforts can make a difference.
