Happy 2013!
I hope that everyone enjoyed a safe, healthy and happy holiday season.
Every day I am amazed at how hard our staff members work to provide the highest quality customer service and healthcare to our beneficiaries.
In 2012, we expanded communication with our customers using Relay Health, our website and Facebook.
In the spring, our laboratory implemented a new specimen labeling and testing process and purchased additional equipment to expand our capabilities. This increased the accuracy of specimen reporting and reduced the wait time for patients to receive their laboratory results.
Over the summer we provided health care of 1546 Marine Corps Officer Candidates and 455 Officer Candidate School staff. This included 3500 hours of field and clinical support.
In September, the laboratory and pharmacy departments implemented a new check in process to speed up and simplify our customer wait times. Instead of waiting in lines, customers check in at our new Kiosk and can even choose to come back and pick up their prescription at their convenience.
During October, NHCQ supported the annual Marine Corps Marathon, Healthy Kids Fun Run and 10k by providing medical care over 30,000 registered runners.
November was busy delivering flu vaccinations and the Joint Commission and Medical Inspector General completed their triennial inspections resulting in an overwhelming positive reaccreditation under the Ambulatory Health Care Manual and initial accreditation for programs covered under the Behavioral Health Care Manual as well as successful evaluation by the Navy Medicine Inspector General.
Also in November, we completed updating our phone system which will be used to better serve our patients.
I am so proud of what we have accomplished this past year and we will continue to look for ways to improve our services to you in 2013.
Your suggestions, comments, compliments and concerns help us serve you better. When you come to the clinic, please take a moment to fill out a customer comment card. Contact information is helpful when you make suggestions for improvement.
I look forward to a terrific 2013.
Wishing everyone had a safe and joyous holiday and used some much needed downtime to recharge your batteries.
I want to thank everyone for all your hard work, support of the leadership and the mission of Naval Health Clinic Quantico. We ended 2012 on a positive note by having an opportunity to select the Command’s best enlisted Sailors as Blue Jacket, Junior and Senior Sailor of the Year for 2012. Join me in congratulating those Sailors:
