The Air Force Retiree Activities Program was established in 1972. The Andrews AFB Retiree Activities Office opened on 28 September 1978 with Colonel Louis H. Cummings (Ret.), a former commander of Andrews AFB, as its Director. The purpose of the program is to provide an interface between the active duty force and the retiree population. At Andrews, a retiree of any military service, a family member or any person trying to assist a retiree is welcome to request assistance from the Andrews RAO.
Public Participation in the Joint Base Andrews Environmental Restoration Program is welcome.
Numerous cleanup actions are under way at Joint Base Andrews, including the removal of underground storage tanks, installation of groundwater treatment systems at key locations, and removal of residual waste from areas to decrease environmental impacts. Public input and participation is vital to the success of the Environmental Restoration Program.
Current information regarding cleanup progress is available on this website and through our newsletter. If you have comments, questions, or want to subscribe to our newsletter please let us know.
