Skateboarder and Park Developer Seth Levy visited Bahrain from October 10 to 20 to talk about skateboarding culture in the U.S., conduct training programs and to explore locations for a future local skate park.

During his program in Bahrain, Seth conducted workshops with local skateboarding enthusiasts at Seef Mall and Bahrain International Circuit. Seth also gave presentations about the history of skateboarding and its culture in the U.S. to students of the American Studies Center at the University of Bahrain, a number of local schools, Salman Cultural Center, the ACCESS Plus program at the American Cultural and Educational Center (ACEC) and Bahrain Training Institute (BTI). Additionally, the U.S. Embassy organized a screening of the documentary film “Dogtown and Z-Boys” at Al-Riwaq Art Space.

Seth Levy’s Step Up Program tour in the Middle East is funded by the U.S. Department of State. His tour included Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Bahrain and Kuwait.

Seth Levy started working in the public and private sector of action sports at an early age. At 13 he played an instrumental role in the building of a famous skateboard park in Washington D.C. called the Green Skate Lab. At 16 he helped to start a do-it-yourself skateboarding club called Blagden Ally, or as he calls it, “Fight Club.” This project evolved from a warehouse with some left over skateboard ramps into a full blown event space with internationally recognized corporate sponsors. Additionally, Seth worked as an instructor at one of the most prestigious skateboard training centers in the world, Woodward. Seth continued the fight for public skateboard parks both in the U.S. and abroad, and he currently runs the only skateboard park in Miami. Seth graduated from the University of Miami with a degree in Entrepreneurship and Religion.
