Commander of U.S. Central Visit
General James Mattis
General James Mattis, the new commander of U.S. Central Command, visited Bahrain on August 28 and 29. During his visit, General Mattis was received by King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and discussed the ongoing cooperation between the U.S. and Bahraini militaries. General Mattis also personally thanked the King for his unwavering support and long-term commitment to the U.S. forces in the region, in particular U.S. Naval Forces, Central Command.
