Chargé d'Affaires Stephanie Williams Honors Cultural Photo Competition Winners (State Dept)

On June 6^th, U.S. Embassy Chargé d'Affaires Stephanie Williams attended an award ceremony for a photo competition organized in cooperation with the University of Bahrain's Media Center.  The competition , titled "Bahrain-U.S.: Connecting Cultures," included five winners in the categories of heritage, sports, modern culture, people, and overall best photo.  As part of the ceremony, the Chargé and the Dean of the College of Arts Dr. Haya Al-Nuaimi opened an exhibit displaying 22 of the top photos from the competition.  In her remarks the Chargé highlighted the long standing cultural ties between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United States.  She said, "The competition was designed to enhance cultural cooperation and mutual understanding between America and Bahrain, especially among young people."   The Embassy plans to showcase photos from the competition throughout the Embassy building.
