U.S. Embassy celebrates Black History Month
February 1, 2013
The US Embassy introduced the first activities in a month-long series of programs celebrating Black History month. Each February, Black History month honors the struggles and triumphs of millions of American citizens over the most devastating obstacles — slavery, prejudice, poverty — as well as their contributions to the nation’s cultural and political life.
Ms. Patricia Camilleri, host of Campus FM “University Matters”, interviewed Ambassador Gina Abercrombie-Winstanley for her show on Campus FM. The Ambassador discussed her personal experiences growing up African-American in the U.S., slavery and its abolition, achievements of African-Americans to U.S. society. Tune in February 4 at 13:30 and February 8 at 20:00 on Campus FM 103.7.
