On February 6, the Consulate General hosted a distinguished panel of Kurdish government, religious and civil society leaders who discussed efforts in the Iraqi Kurdistan Region to combat the continued practice of Female Genital Mutilation.
U.S. Encourages Aspiring Iraqi Entrepreneurs
50 young Iraqi entrepreneurs participated in a USAID-sponsored "Start-Up Weekend," January 31-February 2. During the event, the aspiring entrepreneurs worked with representatives of Google Switzerland, Asia Cell, and Thoughtworks Iraq, to develop business and marketing plans.
