For Americans in Zambia, Consular duty personnel are available for emergency assistance 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at the above numbers. Please listen carefully to the menu options to be certain that you are connected to the appropriate personnel. In the event that your family needs to reach you because of an emergency at home or because they are worried about your welfare, they should call the U.S. Department of State’s Overseas Citizens Services at (888) 407-4747 from the U.S. or Canada, or, from overseas, (202) 501-4444.

We encourage Americans in Zambia to enroll in our Smart Traveler Program so that we can reach you in an emergency.

For routine (non-emergency) consular services for American in Zambia we have an online appointment system with appointments available between the following hours:

Monday, Wednesday and Thursday: 1:30pm – 3:30pm
Friday 8:00am-10:30am.

Please read our complete 2013 Mission Holiday Schedule to know when the US Embassy will be closed.
