Visas
The Consular Section of the U.S.Embassy in Vilnius provides visa services to Lithuanian and foreign nationals residing in Lithuania.
Please note: Travelers who hold dual citizenship with the United States must enter and depart the United States on U.S. passports.
What is a Visa?
A visa is issued by a U.S. Embassy or Consulate. A visa gives you permission to apply for admission to the United States; it does not guarantee entry. The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP, formerly INS) officers at the U.S. port of entry will determine if and how long you are permitted to stay.

Who Needs a Visa?
Lithuanian citizens may travel to the U.S. via the U.S. Visa Waiver Program (VWP) when travelling to the U.S. for a short leisure or business trip of 90 days or less. However, all individuals having a different purpose of travel than aforementioned, or who wish to stay in the U.S. for more than 90 days, are required to obtain the appropriate U.S. visa. Lithuanian citizens who have valid tourist/business visas may continue travelling with their visas. No additional/new requirements for travelers with visas apply.

Lithuanian non-citizens are always required to obtain a U.S. visa for any purpose of travel, unless they have citizenship of a particpating VWP country and are otherwise eligible to travel on the VWP.
