LaVern Outen comes to us from The Sullivans Elementary School. Ms. Outen was the Language Arts/Reading Specialist at Yokosuka Middle School and Literacy Facilitator at J.N. Darby Elementary School.

Ms. Outen was also an elementary school teacher; grades 2-4 for 12 years and a middle school science teacher; grades 6-8, in South Carolina and a Business Education teacher in New York for 10 years.

Originally from Summerville, South Carolina; LaVerne graduated from Voorhees College in South Carolina where she received her B.S in Business Education. LaVerne received her M.ED from The Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina; Curriculum and Instruction and Administration.
