STEP

If you are a U.S. citizen travelling to or living in Latvia or other foreign country, we recommend that you sign up for the U.S. Department of State Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP). STEP is a free service provided by the U.S. Government to U.S. citizens.

By connecting with us on the STEP, we will be able to assist you better in the case of an emergency, such as if you lose your passport or it is stolen while you are abroad. We also assist U.S. citizens in other emergencies.

If you are enrolled in STEP, you will receive important notifications, including Travel Warnings, Alerts, and important Messages for U.S. Citizens from the embassy in Riga.
