General Guidelines To Apply For A Non-Immigrant Visa

The U.S. Consulate General in Casablanca schedules visa appointments between 8:00 and 10:30 a.m. on every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, excluding U.S. and Moroccan holidays. 

Visa applicants must not arrive more than 30 minutes prior to their appointment times. Visa applicants who arrive more than 30 minutes after their scheduled appointment times will be asked to schedule a new appointment. Visa applicants who arrive without all necessary application components (confirmation page, proper photo, and bank receipt) will be asked to schedule a new appointment. 

The U.S. Consulate wishes to remind all visa applicants, as well as U.S. citizens who wish to apply for U.S. passports and/or  Consular Reports of Birth Abroad, that there is no charge for the forms used to make these applications.  They are available free on-line.  We strongly discourage the use of potentially abusive “visa-broker” services, which have been known to charge exorbitant amounts for the free service of completing on-line forms and making on-line appointments for consular services.  

Approved visas are generally ready two business days after the appointment and can be picked up between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. at the main reception window at the U.S. Consulate General. However, the U.S. Consulate General does not guarantee that approved visas will be ready within that timeframe. There might be delays in issuances of visas and the Consulate strongly advises applicants to be prepared for possible delays and not to make final travel arrangements until the visa is printed.  

Other Important Information:

1 - A fee change took effect on April, 13^th 2012. For fees that are increasing, receipts for payments made before that date will be accepted through July 12, 2012.  In categories where fees are declining, no refunds will be available for those who paid prior to the effective date.

2 - When a passport containing a valid visa expires, the expiration of the passport has no effect on the validity of that visa. If you are applying for a new passport and have a valid visa in your expired passport, please ask the Moroccan government officials not to mark, cut, hole-punch, or otherwise alter the page that contains your U.S. visa.  You can travel with your valid, undamaged visa in your expired passport and your new passport.  You must bring both passports with you when you travel and both passports must have been issued by the same country. 

3 – The U.S. Consulate General advises visa applicants to schedule their appointments as early as possible in order to avoid any unexpected delays, including administrative processing, which can last from one week to 6 months or more.
