Released: March 16, 2011 - FVAP News Release # 6

FVAP is Redesigning Key Forms for 2012 – We Need Your Input!

The registration/ballot request form, or (Federal Post Card Application (FPCA)) and back-up ballot, or Federal Write-In Absentee Ballot (FWAB), forms are being updated to increase their ease-of-use and effectiveness.

We are seeking technical and design comments and recommendations from:

Those who use the forms: military members, their spouses and overseas citizens;

State and local election officials who process these forms;

Organizations who assist the above groups; and

Members of the general public

Suggestions are welcome on all aspects of the form: layout, flow and design; form instructions; wording; technical/legal issues and even the name of the form. Anything that will help voters better communicate their needs to election officials and increase their success in the absentee voting process. The goal is for the voter to provide all required information on the first submission and reduce the number of back-and-forth communications.

A summary of the changes that FVAP is considering may be found at, http://www.fvap.gov/reference/fpca-fwab_public_comment.html. When you send your ideas and comments, please indicate if you are a UOCAVA voter, an election official, or a member of the public and your State of legal voting residence.

To submit comments and suggestions:
