Non-Immigrant Visas

Welcome to the Non-Immigrant Visa (NIV) Unit, Dakar

The U.S. welcomes temporary travelers with open doors and secure borders. Foreign travelers to the U.S. make great contributions to the American economy, culture, and education. Many nationals, including Senegalese, must have a visa to travel to the U.S. For information about nationals who do not require visas, please click on the Visa Waiver Program link to the right.

Only a U.S. consular officer may issue a U.S. visa. Most visa applicants must have an interview with a U.S. consular officer before he or she can determine visa eligibility.

All applications for Non-immigrant visas will need to bring the following minimum documents:

  • Passport valid for at least 6 months
  • Ecobank Fee Receipt
  • DS-160 confirmation sheet
  • Photo

For information on additional required documents for specific types of visas, please see the menu choices at the left.
