The Eisenhower Series College Program was established in 1969 as a War College academic outreach program, and formerly called the Current Affairs Program. It encourages dialogue on national security and other public policy issues between students of the Army's senior educational institution and the public at colleges and universities throughout the United States. For Academic Year 2013, the Eisenhower College Program will visit future designated universities.*
Team members participate in constructive, candid exchanges on current national security and military issues. They address current government policies, but they are not bound to champion those policies. They often prefer to share personal views based on their own experience, research, and reflection. Each panel member focuses his or her study on a geographic region such as: Europe, Russia/Eurasia, Asia, the Americas, Middle East, and Africa.
*The Eisenhower Series College Program is generally available from January through April, and it is provided at no cost to the host organization. The Eisenhower Series College Program typically participates in about a dozen academic, business, and civic programs each year. The team's schedule is developed each year in response to invitations from professional and civic organizations, colleges, and universities. The locations of events are subject to change each year based on the invitations.

The Eisenhower Series College Program consists of a team of Army War College students and a faculty moderator. Students are selected for their experience, education, speaking ability, and interest in national security issues. In addition to their required War College coursework, they undertake an intensive individual study program throughout the academic year.
Each member also serves as the team's specialist on specific national public policy issues such as: Defense Transformation, Stability, Operations, Peacekeeping, Future Threats, Information Warfare, International Drug Trafficking, International Terrorism, Nuclear Non-Proliferation, Weapons of Mass Destruction, Civil-Military Relations, Cyber, and other topical issues. Panel members are also prepared to discuss current social issues and their impact on America's Armed Forces.
