- Alvarez-Meyendorff, aka "Mechas," was indicted in the Eastern District of New York on Dec. 10, 2009 for international drug trafficking conspiracy and conspiracy to import narcotics. Alvarez-Meyendorff is a Colombian citizen and was identified as a member of the Don Lucho drug trafficking organization. He was allegedly in charge of the organization's Pacific Ocean cocaine smuggling operations and responsible for transporting tens of thousands of kilograms of cocaine, primarily using maritime methods.
