Introduction

Non-Immigrant Visas are processed in Visa Sections at three United States Consulates in South Africa located in Johannesburg, Cape Town, and Durban. 

U.S. Consulate Johannesburg processes applications for Immigrant Visas to the U.S. 

The U.S. Embassy in Pretoria does not provide any visa services. Applicants for visas in the Pretoria area should apply at the U.S. Consulate Johannesburg.

Processes Non-Immigrant Visa services for Gauteng, Free State, Mpumalanga, Limpopo, and North-West Provinces. 

Processes Immigrant Visa services for all provinces, and for applicants from Namibia, Botswana, Lesotho, Swaziland, Mozambique, and Zimbabwe.

Please Note: There is no public parking available for consular clients at U.S. Consulate Johannesburg.  Vehicles stopping and passenger drop-offs at U.S. Consulate Johannesburg driveways are not permitted.  Please be advised that vehicles may not stop or stand on Sandton Drive in front of U.S. Consulate Johannesburg to drop off, or pick-up passengers for any reason.  For a fee, secured parking is available at Sandton City Shopping Mall which is within a 10-minute walk of U.S. Consulate Johannesburg.

Please Note:  There is no public parking available for consular clients in the building which houses the U.S. Consulate General in Durban.  Paid Parking is available at several public parking garages in the area.  Parking garages closest to the Consulate General in Durban include: the Royal Hotel, the Workshop shopping center and Pine Parkade.
