Natural Gas Import & Export Regulation NEPA Records of Categorical Exclusions
Categorical Exclusions (CX) are categories of actions that DOE has determined, by regulation, do not individually or cumulatively have a significant effect on the human environment and for which neither an environmental assessment nor an environmental impact statement are typically required. To further transparency and openness in its implementation of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), the Department of Energy (DOE) has established a policy with regard to the online posting of certain categorical exclusion determinations. Under the policy, each Program and Field Office will document and post online all CX determinations involving classes of actions listed in Appendix B to Subpart D of the Department’s NEPA regulations, 10 CFR Part 1021.
The table listed below provides a list (with links) of recent CX Appendix B determinations.
