Designation:
The camera information contained on this website is a designated FAA supplementary product. Camera images are generally updated every 10 minutes. The time of the last update is indicated on each image. Current site conditions may differ from displayed images due to a variety of reasons; i.e., rapidly changing conditions, image update frequency, optical distortion, etc. As a supplementary product, these images may only be used to improve situational awareness. They may not be used to comply with regulatory requirements; e.g., to determine weather minimums for IFR flight. METAR information is provided for planning purposes only. It is recommended that you contact a Flight Service Station for a complete pilot weather briefing and all pertinent NOTAM information by dialing 1-800-WX-BRIEF (992-7433).

The Aviation Camera Program Office is happy to announce the release of our second generation mobile web site.

Our new mobile website expands the features and performance of the original mobile friendly version of our site. This new web site includes enhanced functionality across a wide range of mobile devices, and adds additional features to each site page.

FAA is re-assigning Common Traffic Advisory Frequencies (CTAF) in the Matanuska and Susitna (Mat-Su) Valleys to improve situational awareness and clarify frequency use. Effective May 29, 2014, individual airport CTAFs are being assigned within Designated CTAF Areas. Tabs with the graphical CTAF information may be accessed on the Birchwood, Knik, Palmer, Skwentna, Talkeetna, Wasilla and Willow AVCAM sites.

Pilots are encouraged to use ATC Flight Following and FSS airport advisory services, when available. When not in contact with ATC or flight service, pilots should use the assigned CTAF frequencies to make position reports while operating in the depicted areas. Outside these areas, standard CTAF guidelines apply.
