New NHI Web Site Features
NHI is committed to serving the transportation industry with the highest level of
quality. We always strive to find innovative ways to help you quickly and easily
access the information you need. Recently we began improving our Web site to make
it more accessible and user-friendly; these new innovations are highlighted in the
entries below.
Course Search Improvements
April 2012
NHI has introduced a new and improved course catalog search on the NHI Web site. Enter a keyword into the "Search for a Course" field on the NHI Home Page to see the improvements in action.
The following keyword search tips can help you find NHI courses faster and easier:
Search for a course number, title, or keyword:
Example: 130055 or NEPA
Search for exact phrases by surrounding your keywords in quotes:
Example: "pavement preservation"
Begin a keyword with "-" to exclude pages containing the keyword from your search results:
Example: -inspection
Begin a keyword with "+" to show only pages containing the keyword in your search results:
Example: +traffic
New Site Navigation Features
September 2010
In September 2010, NHI introduced an interactive, easy-to-use navigation column
on the left side of its course and content Web pages. The information in the left
column expands directly on the page you are viewing for easier browsing and less
back-and-forth navigation. Your favorite links are categorized and organized in
this new navigation element for easy access, and it appears throughout the site
to help you find what you need as quickly as possible.
In addition, the NHI Web Site features a site map at the bottom of each page for
easy reference and use. Now all of the transportation information that NHI provides
is just a few clicks away.

The NHI Quick Search Bar
September 2010
The newly-redesigned NHI Web site now features a global quick search bar. The quick
search bar can be found on the left side of every page below the navigation menu
and allows you to search for a course from anywhere on the site.
Additional search criteria can be easily accessed using the "more search options"
link (below the search bar), which is linked to our expanded, multi-criteria search
page.

The NHI Web Site gets a New Look

To improve our service to the transportation community, we have redesigned the look
and feel of our Web site to be more dynamic, interactive, and user-friendly.
Improvements include a modern design complete with vivid colors, innovative navigation
tools, easy-to-read text and links, simplified menus and links that help you organize
your favorite pages, and expanding on-page information links for easier browsing
and less back-and-forth navigation.

Transcripts and My Downloads
March 2010
The "My Training" section of the Web site allows NHI account holders to view their
unofficial transcripts, access materials downloaded from the NHI store, and learn
how to request official transcripts from the NHI Registrar.
Improvements include a modern design complete with vivid colors, innovative navigation
tools, easy-to-read text and links, simplified menus and links that help you organize
your favorite pages, and expanding on-page information links for easier browsing
and less back-and-forth navigation.

NHI My Courses Page
March 2010
The "My Training" section of the NHI Web site now features the "My Courses" page.
The "My Courses" page allows Web-based and Web-conference training participants
to launch courses directly on the NHI Web site and download personalized certificates
of completion at any time.
Benefits of the "My Courses" page include:
- A stream-lined process for accessing Web-based and Web Conference trainings
- Fewer emails when registering for Web-based and Web Conference trainings
- Less login information to remember; no need to enter Adobe Login and Password information
- Training certificates that are personalized with the participant's name and course
information
