HELP: About Landings

Help Pages: About Landings

NMFS requires permit owners to report recreational landings of Atlantic bluefin tuna. A landing occurs any time that a bluefin is caught and brought back to shore. It is important for the management of the resource that the estimates of the amount of bluefin tuna landed be as accurate as possible. Failing to report your landings is a punishable offense.

For convenience and efficiency, the Permit Shop has a special facility for reporting landings. On the lower-left of the life preserver on the home page, and on the left-hand side of most other screens, you will find the link Landings Report. For instructions on how to report landings, click on Reporting Landings.
