“NO EXCEPTIONS”
Per MCBO 5560.2D you may not register your vehicle at this installation if you reside or are assigned to another base. You must register your vehicle with the base you are affiliated with. If you live in the DC National Capital Region and you work or live on an installation or work for a DoD agency that does not issue the DoD Decal MCB Quantico Vehicle Registration will not assist you in obtaining the DoD Decal. The only exception to this is U.S. Military retired personnel who live within 50 miles of MCB Quantico.
The expiration of your DoD Decal is based on the expiration of your DoD CAC or your DoD Tenslin Card (Retired or Reserve ID Card). Retired Service Members will automatic be issued decals which will have four years to expiration.
The DoD Decal is a controlled item and you will be required to return the decal in the event you sale, trade, or replace the windshield or leaving active service.
When Checking Out from Quantico you will need to bring the following along with your check out sheet:
-
If you are executing a Permanent Change of Station bring your check out sheet and your Quantico Base Indicator (Blue, Red, White or Green Quantico Sticker).
-
If you are a civilian employee leaving the employment of MCB Quantico or a service member checking out because of End of Active Service (EAS) you will need to bring in your whole set of Quantico Stickers.
Proper Placement of the DoD Decal:
The DoD Decal should be placed on the outside of the front windshield centered directly at the top of the windshield or the lower left on the windshield (driver’s side). Ensure that you do not cover up the VIN. Placement on a motor cycle will be on the front left fork or after market decal plate so law enforcement personnel can see the decal as you approach an access control point.
Visitor Pass System
Due to increasing security measures at the installation gates, the Provost
Marshal Office is implementing a visitor pass system. The intent of the visitor pass system is to facilitate those personnel with no military affiliation that provide valuable services to the base population. These types of services include but are not limited to child care, respite or medical care, academic instruction (tutoring, music, etc), and visiting family guests in base housing.
The service provider must be sponsored by personnel that reside aboard the
installation. In order to receive a visitor pass, the provider must bring a request form completed by the sponsor to the Vehicle Registration Office located at the Visitor Control Center of the Russell-Knox Building, 27130 Telegraph Road, Quantico, Virginia.
The sponsor can obtain this letter at the Vehicle Registration Office, at
Bldg 2043/Provost Marshal Office, or may print it HERE.
The person providing the service understands he or she is subject to a
background check to ensure compliance with installation access requirements. He or she must abide by all traffic regulations aboard the installation and must possess a valid driver's license, vehicle registration, and insurance in order to obtain a visitor pass. The approval of the visitor pass is at the discretion of the installation Provost Marshal and will not exceed a
