SAF/IE (Installations, Environment and Logistics) is responsible for installations, military construction, base closure and realignment; environment, safety and occupational health issues; and all logistical matters.
SAF/IEI (Installations) provides guidance, direction and oversight of matters pertaining to the shaping and strengthening of Air Force installations in support of personnel and logistical combat capability. This includes asset management, base closures, military construction, family housing, community and congressional interface, joint use of airfields, ranges, and disposal of real property.
SAF/IEE (Environment, Safety and Occupational Health) sustains the Air Force as a ready and robust force and preserves America's investment in the Air Force by integrating the best in environment, safety and occupational health practices into all Air Force activities.
SAF/IEN (Energy) provides guidance, direction and oversight of all matters related to energy, to reduce Air Force energy demand, increase Air Force energy supply, change Air Force energy culture, and make energy a consideration in all we do.
SAF/IEL (Logistics) provides guidance, direction and oversight of matters pertaining to the overall supervision of Logistics, including material readiness and product support; supply chain integration, distribution, planning and programming, and logistics systems management; maintenance of weapon systems and military equipment; depot maintenance management including planning, performance and capabilities; and total life cycle management (sustainment).
The Air Force BRAC Program Management Office implements BRAC 2005 recommendations to enhance Air Force warfighting capability and improve mission readiness.
Air Force Real Property Agency (AFRPA) is responsible for acquiring and disposing of Air Force-controlled real property worldwide. AFRPA also manages property transfer and environmental remediation activities at former Air Force bases closed or realigned under the Base Closure and Realignment Act of 1988 and the Defense Base Closure and Realignment Act of 1990 (BRAC).
