Sensor Lights (Mala Sarka)

The U.S. Embassy in Prague is looking for a company to security lightning installment; address Na Male Sarce, Nebusice.

Project includes:

  • Security lighting wiring implementation according to requirements specified by the client with the axis of lights at 2.7m above surrounding terrain.
  • Light positioning according to clients’ requests (see facade drawings) and requirements for system functionality

Comments:

  • Wiring will be placed into wall mounted plastic raceways or into horizontal grooves cut into the façade, which will then be repaired by masons, fixed by net and repainted.
  • The way of lying will be decided individually for each building after agreement with the client.
  • The new wiring will be connected to the existing electrical distribution system in the house.
  • The existing house switchboard will be used if free positions can be found for the connection.
  • Switchboards without free positions will be complemented by the supplier by secondary switchboards which will then be connected to the grid through the existing main house switchboards.
  • Switchboards will be equipped with individual breakers for the relevant circuit.
  • In separate garages, existing switchboard will equipped with a new breaker for security light.
  • Light sources chosen by the client will be equipped with integrated movement/light sensors.
  • The system will be controlled automatically through motion and dusk and dawn sensors.
  • Lights will be equipped with requested light sources.


Solicitation Conditions:

  • Minimum of five (5) years experience in this field
  • Minimum of two (2) years warranty for performed works

  • Technical capabilities availability and qualifications of the vendor for performing this scope of work submission

Lifting Platform

The US Embassy in Prague is looking for an experienced construction company to install a lifting platform at the U.S. Embassy in Prague, Tržiště 15, Praha 1 – Malá Strana.

The contractor shall install an external lifting platform which will connect the West courtyard to the raised level of the U.S. Embassy garden. The platform should be for disabled use (wheelchair users) and for transporting material for garden maintenance. The contractor shall design and build the project, providing construction design details and the implementation, using the specifications presented here as the design intent documentation.

The works include specialist lift technology as well as general building work such as excavation the construction of the upper level station (balcony).

The platform will be placed at the back of the West courtyard on the left hand side next to the existing support structure carrying telecommunications equipment.

The proposed solution is to use a lift platform with rope/ chain or a side drive. The platform dimensions are designed in accordance with Czech legislation (Decree No. 398/2009 Coll.). The platform is designed to accommodate wheelchair users and is sized slightly larger than the minimum standard (1100x1400 mm rather than 900x1400 mm). The structural and drive element form a strong vertical element and will be clad in metal paneling. The platform railing uses vertical post at no more than 120 mm centers and the height of the railing is 1000 mm. The lift control at the top and bottom stations will be located next to the cabin entrance.

The total travel distance for the lifting platform is: 4.2 m.

Typical loading capacity 300 kg

The lift must be able to be independently operated by a person in a wheelchair without an escort. Protective railings with a gate, around at lower level are included to mitigate possible crush risk.

The system should operate on a return to ground regime. The lift installation should be capable of both manual and automatic operation.

The excavated areas around the lifting platform base and the extended pathway at the upper level will use granite cobblestones in typical Prague mosaic style (50 x 50 cm).

The upper level balcony will be constructed using a cantivered steel frame construction of steel beams fixed to the garden wall and anchored to a reinforced concrete foundation sank into the garden.

Intended materials:

  • Concrete: C25/30
  • Blinding concrete: C8/10
  • Reinforcement: steel mesh type 10505
  • Chemical anchors in masonry
  • Steel RHS to CZ norms


Solicitation Conditions: contractor to have at least 7 years of experience building new constructinos and installing elevators, Warranty period is minimum 5 years, 5 references on similar projects with contacts on buyers, insurance for damages at minimum CZK 5 mil.

Glorietta Outer Façade Reconstruction Project

The US Embassy in Prague is looking for an experienced construction company to repair outer façade of the Glorietta building, at the U.S. Embassy in Prague, Tržiště 15, Praha 1 – Malá Strana.

Scope of work and Deliverables

The contractor shall partially repair and replenish the existing electrical wiring and lights; he shall also repair the façades, ceilings and cellar walls.  He shall also carry out stonemason repairs of stair steps, a complete replacement of stair skirting boards, as well as carpentry/joinery renovation works and minor repairs of copper flashings.

This includes:

  1. Repair of hydro insulation incl. short trenches and backfills – insulation works will require repair or replenishing of some existing wall hydro insulation
  2. Partial removal of existing degraded plasters or stucco on walls and ceiling and their renovation with remediation plaster and stucco by dragging glass fiber network, where appropriate.
  3. Scraping large cracks and subsequent filling with suitable material
  4. Cleaning of all surfaces with pressure water washing
  5. Removal of inner vertical plaster (cellar under stairs), within one meter of height, cleaning of joints on brick walls and brick surfaces from plaster remnants, penetration coating of brick surface against dustiness without sealing capillaries
  6. Removal of existing gutter lanes (sidewalks) and replacing them with concrete or sandstone slabs, including repairs of existing gravel and sand subbase
  7. Cutting perimetric  plaster above gutter lanes
  8. Removal of stair skirting boards and replacement with an artificial or natural stone
  9. Repair and sealing of stair step cracks incl. follow up unifying pigmentation and penetration coating of stair steps and skirting boards
  10. Removal of the existing switchboard – rack while maintaining existing elements for retroactive application
  11. Delivery and assembly of a new cabinet, resistant against unauthorized intrusion (equipped with a lock), for use in outdoor environment
  12. Completion and replacement of wiring elements for damp environment - boxes, outlets, switches, lights (fixation with a remediation plaster)
  13. Replacement of lights in the scope and  choice of the client
  14. Inspection and repair of any damaged flashing at the top of the railing.
  15. Painting of the walls and ceilings with colors chosen by the client.
  16. 16)  Removal, transport and disposal of all rubble, waste and remaindered materials.
  17. Final fixing, patching, painting and cleaning of any damaged surfaces and areas as well as  restoring the construction site or nearby facilities to its original state
