US Embassy Riyadh is pleased to report that the second season of archaeological work in Jurash, near Abha, has come to a close. The project is a joint US-Saudi effort, led by the University of Miami’s Dr. David Graf and the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities. According to historian Mohammed Aal Zulfa, site in the Ahad Rufeidah region was surveyed last summer, and team members were encouraged enough by their findings to return for more extensive excavations. This year, the team also included graduate students from Saudi Arabia and Canada.
