GA/AL District Curriculum & Standards

In keeping with our mission to  educate, engage, and empower each student to succeed in a dynamic world  the DoDEA Curriculum Content Standards and the Community Strategic Plan (CSP) provide the framework for academic excellence.

The GA/AL district does not provide all grade level programs.  Dependent students living on the military installations attend schools operated by the Local Education Agency in the civilian community for grade levels not offered by DDESS.

Pre-Kindergarten

GA/AL Schools offer a half-day Pre-K program to children who reside on post and who will be four years old on or before September 1, of the current year.

Pre-K teachers utilize a student-centered approach and encourage children to develop their abilities as they work in areas focused on computer skills, art activities, creative play, and academic readiness.

Special Education

Special Education services are available to all students including preschoolers. If you have concerns regarding your child's academic, physical, social, or language development, you may contact your child's teacher or the principal. Preschool children ages three and four years with developmental delays, physical disabilities, or speech-language problems may be eligible for services.
