What is VLER Health?
The Virtual Lifetime Electronic Record (VLER) Health is a new program that shares select parts of a Veteran’s medical record electronically, safely, and privately with other approved health care facilities that are members of a secure Internet network. The VLER Health program pioneers the exchange of information between different health care systems by partnering with a local non-profit organization called HEALTHeLINK. HEALTHeLINK works with local physician, hospital, and insurance organizations to share health information and improve the delivery of patient care.

How will this benefit me?
Many Veterans receive a portion of their care from non-VA health care providers. Before VLER Health, when a VA doctor needed medical records from outside the VA, it often took weeks of waiting for the paper records to arrive. VLER Health does the same thing in just seconds. Because doctors will have more information available, it will improve the quality of care that they provide to our Veterans.
