Irradiation Extremes Thrust
The movie shows our molecular dynamics simulation of a collision cascade near an asymmetric Σ11 tilt grain boundary in copper over a time of 380 ps.
-
Mechanical Extremes Thrust:
High Strain Rates TeamThis movie shows the molecular dynamics simulation of shock loading and release of a Cu/Nb multilayer.
-
Mechanical Extremes Thrust: Severe Plastic Deformation Team
The movie shows our research on a Cu 10 nm nanocrystalline sample being uni-axial compressed to strain of 20% and then stress released.
-
Irradiation Extremes Thrust
Traditional structural materials degrade and fail under intense irradiation, but certain nanocomposites contain high volume fractions of "super sink" interfaces that allow these materials to self-heal.
