Recent incidents in the Northern part of Kosovo have shown the necessity to ensure proper policing and public safety in the area. KFOR, as an impartial mission, has full confidence in the local population and knows that this trust is mutual.

Early this morning, KFOR successfully conducted a obstacles removal operation in the vicinity of Rudare, north from Mitrovica.

I am aware of a self-proclaimed "Civil Protection Corps’” (CPC) in the municipalities in the Northern part of Kosovo. I will not evaluate the legitimacy and legal status of CPC.
