Sustainability and U.S. Competitiveness Summit

Sustainability and U.S. Competitiveness Summit

On October 8, the International Trade Administration hosted the “Sustainability and U.S. Competitiveness Summit” at the U.S. Department of Commerce. More than 120 representatives from private industry, industry associations, non-governmental organizations, academia and major federal agencies attended the all-day event to hear about what types of things the Department’s Sustainable Manufacturing Initiative (SMI) had accomplished over the past two years, discuss the sustainable manufacturing-related challenges facing U.S. industry and identify possible areas of future SMI work. Commerce Secretary Gary Locke provided opening remarks at this Summit, which also featured a keynote presentation by Green to Gold co-author Andrew Winston.
