Release Notes for 01/29/13





1. Key Enhancements

a. Phase 1 of workshop training migration was performed in production. Phase 1 included all users for whom there was a high level of confidence in the data (approximately 26,000 users). Users in phase 1 were notified in advance of the migration that their accounts were being migrated and setup in GLOBE.



2. Administration / Control Panel

a. Resolved errors "organizations is unavailable", and "users is currently unavailable" when creating new organizations or users. This was a Liferay bug and was fixed with a patch (#1392)

b. Missing Organizations for FL Partners – when impersonating a couple different Partners from FL, not all of their expected schools were displaying. Found errors on organization tree in database. Added "Rebuild Organization Tree" button in toolbar on Organizations page in Control Panel (for portal admins only). (b1404)

c. “Export” behavior – when trying to export User information from User Groups/View Users, subsets of Users, or through Organization searches/View Users, the expected lists weren’t being returned. The exported user.csv file now includes users’ full name, email address, screen name, job title and organizations. (b1405)

d. “Forgot Password” email – period at end of URL was removed because of problems text email users had, thinking the period was part of the URL (e832)

e. The notification email sent to new users that are created through the control panel has been updated(e839)



3. Front-End

a. Videos - issues when alignment was "not set". If the last video on the page had alignment values of "not set", once saved, that video would overlap the end of the page and cover over the edit buttons. Also - if a video marked "not set" was deleted and then the page was saved, if you went back to edit the page, the CK Editor content would be blank (even though the videos displayed). – fixed (b1407)

b. Videos – can now insert a left-aligned video properly in the CK Editor. (b1402)

c. Removed snapshot dates for display time on the metrics page. (e750)

d. Removed organizations used for testing purposes from metrics pages. (e804)

e. Automatically center the community map to the United States when ‘Partners (US partners)’ is selected. (e664)

f. “GLOBE Community” header on the Home page was centered. (e831)

g. As requested, the old school ID login page and link was removed. (e834)

4. Workshops / Training

a. Resolved issue of admin users not being able to find teachers in search results when trying to add them to a workshop roster (b1398)

b. Fixed layout and pagination issue (links not working at the bottom and extra white) on the workshop list page. (b1363)



5. Visualization

a. Data Ranges for Hydrology sites

All hydrology sites within a 7 day range shall be displayed on the map. The 7 day range can be changed by the user by entering the last day of the 7 day period in the 'Map Date' field. When a hydrology layer is added, the following text shall display next to the 'Map Date' field: Hydrology data are shown for the week ending on the selected day.

b. Removed NOAA base layers

c. In the table, the column for salinity changed to "Salinity ppt"

d. Filled dots instead of empty circles on graph

e. Removed 'number of reports' column on site info page

f. 'Atmospheric' Site changed to 'Atmosphere' Site on site info page

g. Add height units on site info window and page

h. Contours are no longer associated with 10 cm depth for average soil temperature

i. Fixed Legend height issue

j. Removed transparency of legend so colors match the icons

k. Water Conductivity layer is now labeled ‘Micro Siemens per cm’

l. Micro Siemens icons are now displaying

m. Via Hydrology legend is now appearing

n. Site photos have been implemented for non-land cover sites. No photos found to test

o. Added a ‘use Auto Y-axis’ check box. This adds an ‘autoyaxis’ parameter to the plot, using the auto y axis function in fusion chart

p. Added ability to select a data range to a table. This is the new tab called ‘View Site Data’ under ‘Filters’.

q. Fixed problem: when setting date ranges in the View Site Data box, sometimes if one edits a date and presses return, the number goes back to the previous value but if one clicks outside the box the edited data is retained.

r. Fixed: The vertical axis label for pH should be “pH units”.

s. Fixed: On the legend, the label should be “salinity via hydrometer (ppt)” and not just Via Hydrometer (ppt); the label should be “Secchi Disk Transparency (m)” and not just Secchi Disk (m).
