Sreenshot of current FSS eNewsletterThis month’s featured article, Contractor Success — Marketing Matters!!!, details the recently released GSA informational video series designed to provide current and prospective contractors develop strategies for maximizing business opportunities with the Government under the Schedules program.  As we come upon the end of the Government’s fiscal year, this month’s training topic, VA Directive 7408.1 Open Market Waivers, is relevant to all VA ordering activites as it provides a in-depth overview of the requirement for VA facilities to submit a request for waiver in order to waive the requirement of purchasing goods and services from mandatory VA FSS contracts.  Email pmrs@va.gov for more information about the waiver process, or nac@va.gov to submit a waiver request.

Additionally, this month’s edition includes more information about FSS’ move toward cradle-to-closeout assignments (targeted for October 1, 2011), including how we intend to move forward, and relevant process changes.  Contractors are also reminded to submit their 3rd Quarter Sales reports and IFF payments.  Finally, this month’s edition provides a listing of recent Presidentially declared emergency and disaster delarations that are eligible under the Disaster Recovery Program and a complete list of FSS contracts awarded in August 2011.
