On behalf of the Commanding Officer, I would like to welcome you to the Marine Air Control Group-38 (MACG-38) family. I am the Group-38 Family Readiness Officer (FRO), Jo Ann Dinwoodie and I look forward to working with you and your loved ones as you navigate your way through the benefits and challenges of military service.
The Marine Corps has defined family as any unit the Marine is born into, sworn into, or married into. Our Commandant’s message is that a Marine makes an enduring commitment to the Corps and the Corps, in turn, makes an enduring commitment to every Marine AND to their family.
The Commanding Officer, in his Policy Statement cites, “Every Marine and Sailor has a ‘loved one’ and Single Marines and Sailors are just as important a part of the team as married Marines and Sailors.” “Personal and family readiness is the ability of the individual Marine, Sailor and their loved ones to successfully balance the challenges of life and the unique challenges of military service.” As your FRO, it is my goal to ensure that you and your loved ones have the tools you need to overcome the challenges and take advantage of the benefits.
Family readiness is the responsibility of the active duty member, however, you will not be alone to achieve this – you have the entire MACG-38 family behind you and I am just one resource among many. I am also the official source of command information, which can be sent to you through e-mail, text, and phone calls.
My door is always open to you and your loved ones. I look forward to speaking with you upon check-in and welcoming you to the MACG-38 family!
