  • Students Visit NWRC: USGS National Wetlands Research Center (NWRC) contractor Courtney Schaneville hosted two school groups the week of May 11, 2009. Opelousas Catholic 4-H brought 40 sixth through twelfth grade students, and Sts. Leo-Seton School came with 58 second graders. Each group received a presentation on Louisiana’s wetlands and toured NWRC. They learned about greenhouse experiments, research on fish, frogs, and applesnails, and spatial analysis through mapping.
